Love me ...Love me not

Love me ...Love me not

08 Jan 2016

A day for lovers around the world, a day for others to express their affection for a heart's desire. We will be running a series of newsletters, It comes but once a year, but what is Valentines Day?

St. Valentine's Day began with an early saint named Saint Valentine of Rome, the story states that he was imprisoned for performing weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry, Legend has it, during his imprisonment, he healed the daughter of his jailer, Asterius. Before his execution he wrote her a letter signed "Your Valentine" as a farewell. He is honoured each year on February 14th.

The day then became synonymous with love in the Middle Ages, when couples would exchange tokens as a symbol of their affections. But it was the Victorians who took the day and ran with it, always looking for an excuse to adorn and create elaborate exchanges of love, both couples and forbidden attractions.

At the heart of February 14th one thing has endured throughout the centuries, it is a day of love, beauty, truth and forgiveness. If you have love, are in love, looking for love, or been bitten by love.............love will always remain.
